St. Louis County plans to begin construction of turn lanes on Hwy. #2 at Munger Shaw Road on Monday, August 19, 2024. A full road closure of Hwy. #2, including the intersection of Munger Shaw Road will occur during the entire project. The closure will last through September 28, 2024. 

Access to the Solway Town Hall will be from the north only during the closure. Access to Munger Tavern will be from the south on Munger Shaw Road or from the west on Old Hwy. #2. Access to Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church will be from the east only.

In preparation for the closure, the county will be grading and placing calcium chloride on the detour route and other local gravel roads that are anticipated to see additional traffic. 

The detour for Munger Shaw Road will utilize Hermantown Road, Jeffrey Road, and Maple Grove Road. The Hwy. #2 posted detour will utilize Canosia Road, Maple Grove Road, and Midway Road.
